A Night In

I am a hardworking, smart, independent, friendly woman.  I wake up early and stay up late. I help everyone, study, clean, cook. Its busy, so I love my nights off.  Nights off are me time and I cherish them.  Not enough woman out there really take advantage of their nights alone.  For example, my Momma, she is a devoted teacher and mother, but when she gets a night to herself she cleans the little places of the house she sometimes misses or she works outside until she is dead tired and just passes out. No! You're doing it wrong Momma!  Alone nights are to rejuvenate and replenish yourself. Spring cleaning is for all the nooks and crannies of cleaning. So I thought I'd do a piece on how I spend my nights to myself.

When I get a night alone I start by having a small dinner.  Nothing to big, minimal dishes, easy.  Like the Banquet Pot Pies. Simple and Delish! As I eat I relax with a good cooking or fashion show.  Something not stressful like the news or a drama.  Then I begin to treat myself.  First on my list is a facial.  There are two great ways for a facial one is to use something like DermaPro Detoxifying Ion Masque. It cleans the skin, tightens the face, and give a youthful glow. This method is preferable on nights alone cause its an apply, relax, rinse.  The other way is to use your everyday cleanser and just really scrub into your face. Follow that with whisked egg white peel, and finish with a face moisturizer.  There is more work and less relaxing this way but you gotta do what you gotta do.  Next, I give myself a "mood" bath, bubbles, candles the whole shabang.  Depending on the level of stress I've had changes the temp of the bath and the kind of smelly stuff I use. Stress-warm water, Smart Spa EucaMint bubble bath, Favorite book(something to escape into),Vacation candle(candle that smells like the place you wish you were like rainforest or beach). Eucalyptus and Mint are both proven to release the mind. Tired-hot water, Smart Spa White Tea bubble bath, Music(not DubStep more oceans or elevator music), Lavender candle(helps sleep). White Tea has white tea(soothing), citrus(energizing) and mint(refresher) so it has a mulit help. Finally, right before going to bed nice and early for a good 8-9 hours of sleep I stretch. I know it sound weird, but stretching before bed every night can help you sleep better.  Not just a touch your toes stretch but a full stretch(i.e. butterflies, Hollywood, legs apart to the right, left and middle, arms across the body and over the shoulder, legs together tough your toes, neck,point/flex foot, calves, everything) and at the end of your stretch, anything that hurts put on muscle relaxer like Ole Henriksen Muscle Comfort rubbing it on like lotion moving towards the heart. Don't use IceyHot or its generic. That's for daytime when you're still using you muscles you need something calmer at night.  That's my stay at home alone night. I love it and the next day people around me love me because I'm happier and more enjoyable.  What's your favorite thing to do on your home alone? Leave a comment or message please. I'm always looking for new ways to enjoy ME!
