Swimmer's Dilema

My Cool Relay Team+Coach Williams
In high school I was on the swim team all four years. I highly encourage everyone to try it! Its all about being in shape and proving to yourself that you are good.  Even if you don't know how to swim any swim coach can teach you. Plus if you feel you're not athletic well so what you wont bring your team down it's (or it should be) all about beating your last weeks time. I loved that sport because of the good work out with minimal sweat.  However there was some dilema it it... one the super heavy chlorinated water and two the awkward tan of a race suit.  So I thought I would do a post for all who plan on trying the swim team come this fall(or maybe spring depending on where you live).
Breast Stroke My Least Fave:/
To protect you hair swim caps really are the best way to go. However they are tight and keep your head all dry and warm so I ONLY wore them at meets(every second counts and that little piece of hair is a lot of slow down time).  So I needed a better treatment to keep my hair light wieght and shiny.  The line that I find works best is Malibu Swimmers. Its a shampoo, conditioner and weekly treatment.  I swear by this! my light blonde hair was GREEN! like to the point that people thought i dyed it to look like snot. After one week all the chlorine damage was gone from my hair. It was no longer fried or green. The smell of the shampoo is almost not there but thats better than smelling bad right?
The Team Senior Year
So you may not be able to clearly tell from the picture but those race suits go way high on the chest to make a smooth line over the breast to minimize drag. Suit = great for swim. Tan from suit = wierd looking in a normal shirt.  To even out my tan my auntie showed me the TanTowel. I refused to get in a tanning booth(personal belief that I'm the color I should be), and was scared of spray tans seeing as lots of my friends ended up with streaks, I needed something else. TanTowel is just like a towelette. Open, rub on, wash hands. If you don't wash your hands you do get tan palms which is wierd.  It didn't make me look fake it simply took away my drastic lines. Perfect for just giving a glow for a special day.
