Strange right?! It's from CallAHairdresser.com. I'm not yet sure what I really think about it. In ways I completely agree, however the way they showed it was kinda dumb and non-convincing. Personally the only box dye I've ever used is a temporary dye to dye my head blue for a football game at school. I love the girls at my salon so its exciting to go there and salon trips make my hair extra soft. But friend and my momma have used them. Both with a not so good experience for the most part. Both of their box color maybe lasted a third of what a salon color would last. My mom wanted to be blonde from grey...she got more grey. That time we used a L'oreal box and it like ate more color out of her hair! LAME! Plus her super thin hair got thinner frizzier and just all bad. My friend, Shelby, and I put highlights in her hair. Never again. We did it outside and like halfway through coloring her hair there were ants in the dye. That was strange but our own fault. She's a strawberry blonde and we tried a few platinum highlights. All the highlights got so dead and dry that if some one tapped her hair it would all fall out. Also, she must have had a purpleish color shampoo(I don' know what) cause the dye after a few washes looked purple!
My Boyfriend with his hair blue. But this was the time with Pro dye.
I have used box color on my boyfriend and older sister though and they bothe came out fine. My boyfriend we bleached then dyed blue and then back to brown and his hair looks like it always has. My older sister went from blonde to a medium brown and it looks great and her hair is still healthy. The only issue with either of them was "accidentally" getting it on their skin cause it wouldn't wash off, and doing the blue my boyfriend threw awat the gloves so for a few days we became Smurfs, but that was really our own doing not box colors.
I will never use a box color, I belive in Job Security. If I don't buy from hairdressers they won't have money to put into the economy and its a downhill lol. If you are insisting on at home color please read this first. There are really good tips.
