Fire Hair

So this Sunday, I finally redyed my hair! My aunt did it for me(and 5 other people, 8 hours of non-stop dye). For this hair dye I wanted my hair to look like upside down fire. It looks absolutely wonderful!! P.S. The picture does NOT do it very much justice.

I promise there are oranges in there and the red is not really that pink.  And no these are not tips. What we did is we took the bottom layer kinda thick and dyed it red then took a thinner middle layer for the orange and topped it off with my platinum blonde! I love it. And there is a definite resemblance from my hair to a lighter when its up in a ponytail. Sadly I couldn't find a hair tie to prove it. The ONLY bad thing about this hair...the first few washes. I have to put up my blonde and orange, really wash the red. Hold the red aside and really wash the orange. Hold ll colors aside but try not to make them touch and wash the blonde. OHH the work we do for beauty. Oh well. If you get a color like this or anything with a blonde and another richer color all I can say it use Goldwell Dualsenses Color Extra Rich. Its the only shampoo/conditioner I've found to really save the separation of color and stop bleeding.

French Tips

Its been a while since I've posted. I know but I've been swamped lately. So much to do in such little time. Oh well now I have lots to write about. Yet I will start with just nails.
Yesterday my best friend and I went to get our nails done. We went to this little shop near our local Rayley's. It wasn't the best nail experience I've had but she did a pretty good job so I can't whine to much. I had her do and air brush french tip for me(because everytime i get color it never matches what I wear and pisses me off). Sam got beautiful purple nails with little blue flowers that were awesome. I was also jealous of Sam cause her lady was a lot better than mine. Plus her lady didn't talk on the phone in Korean the entire time.
Now for all you DIY people I have a great trick for getting that perfect tip look. Use the sticker off an apple to make a line. They aren't too sticky so if you have a color on your base it won't pull it all off and its the perfect size i.e. the oval shape is very versitle. I would also reccomend SpaRitual's French Tip nail polish because it lasts forever and goes on very easy. SpaRitual is in every nail shop I see too so you can trust it.

Boyfriend's Birthday

So my boyfriend, Garret, has a birthday coming up and I got him a pretty awesome gift set thing.  At least I think its awesome( and know that I am not  spoiling his gift cause he never reads my blog).  So for months he has been saying how he wants colored contacts and since his favorite NFL team is the Steelers I got him some yellow and black ones. They are called Angelic Yellow from AC lens. The down side about this part of the gift is he may scare me with yellow eyes.  I also got a Stay Forever in Love breath spray from Blue Q. No he did not ask for it but I thought the packaging was cute and he always needs breath spray since he smokes and it makes his mouth taste like dirt.  Another thing in his gift is the American Crew Shave. I realize now isn't the best time to get it for him(No Shave November) but as soon as November is over he will really need it because he always nicks himself shaving and supposedly this will protect his handsome face.  I did get him the Malibu Betty which is blue not for his down there but because I really want to die his leg hair and last night when I asked he said sure so now he's doomed! And finally a Nook Tablet cover and gift card for all the books and apps he wants.  I had the actual tablet ordered too but the ding-dong went out and bought his own so I had to cancel.  Now all that I have left to do is the hard part. Plan a party. I'm terrible at planning anything so if anybody has some sense on what way I should go let me know!!

Just for Fun Hair

So I didn't get to have my nails done. :( Things like my car engine blowing up made sure I couldn't. However, I did do my haair with some blue and its natural gold/blonde for Navy Day.  I used my hair chalk and tribal pigments for the color.  I have always just used the temporary color for streaks or chunks in making braids.  Never have I tried to do a lot of my hair and I found a few flaws in the hair chalk and tibal pigments
When doing streaks, where ever I put the dye or chalk is where it stays.  Now when I did my whole underside....it got everywhere!!  My entire chest and neck was blue by the end of the day.  I looked part smurf! Luckily, it washed out of my skin just as easy as out of my hair.
  Anyways, heres what I did:

After showering, I towel dried my hair well then brushed it out.  Next, I clipped up what I wanted to stay blonde and got to work.  I started with the electric blue hair chalk, and just taking about one inch sections sliding the chalk down the front then back.  Once my hair was all chalked I decided I wanted to add some shine to it plus a little bit of a darker color, thats where the tribal pigments blue came in. For the tribal pigments all I had to do was squeeze some on my fingers and run it over the hair. To seal in the color I misted my hair with a little bit of hair stay. Finally, I dropped my blonde and spritzed my whole head with Fekkai Summer Beach Waves and shook it out fir some beachy waves.

Nauticle Nails

So tomorrow, October 27, is National Navy Day.  Being a Future Sailor I feel I should celerate.  How may I celebrate? I think I'm gonna get some nautical nails and wear navy blue and gold.  I've been looking through google to get some ideas about what I want my maniqurist to do. Heres some ideas:

I really like how the pinky is done. Yet I think I would want a brighter red.

I like the incorperation of yellow but the anchor is lame.
I enjoy how these nails have "waves" on the bottom but the boat are a big no!

I love the index finger on this one but white nails really don't float my boat.

10 Hair Myths

I have collected and researched 10 popular hair myths. It started when I had heard that you should brush your hair with 100 strokes each night before bed and I asked my stylist about it.  After that I kept hearing these other myths and just had to find out FACT or CRAP. I felt like Everyone needed to know what I found out.
  1) Brush your hair 100 times before bed.
The myth: Brush your hair 100 times before bed to evenly distribute oils for shinier, healthier hair.
The finding:CRAP. You should really only brush for detangling and styling reasons. Brushing can pull out hair that is still healthy and growing. Plus, the bristles are slightly irritating to the scalp. When you do brush you hair make sure you are using the right kind too.  A wide tooth comb is ideal for wet hair while a brush with plastic tips is the best for styling.
   2)Get your hair trimmed often.
The myth: Frequent hair trims will make your hair grow faster.
The finding:CRAP. You get your hair trimmed at the ends of your hair which don't have any living cells. So there is no effect on the living cells at the roots. However, getting your hair trimmed may give an illusion of faster growing hair because it looks cleaner and more well kept.
3)Rinse your hair in cold water
The myth:When you rinse out your shampoo with icy water, your hair have a better shine.
The finding:CRAP. The only thing rinsing your hair in cold water will do is wake you up. Water temperature has nothing to do with shampoo.  Cold water is a good rinse temperature with hair dye as it does minimize the bleeding of color but shampoo isn't color and should get all over the hair.
  4)Switch up your shampoos.
The myth: Your hair can build up a tolerance to shampoo so switch up what you use often.
The finding:CRAP. Your hair doesn't know the difference from one brand to the next.  It may seem like your hair has built up a tolerance though for two reasons. One is that your nose can. When you have the same smell for so long your nose may no longer notice the smell. The other reason is the actual health or texture of your hair may have changed.  If after a while your hair feels greasy and not clean try something not as moisturizing as your hair is very healthy producing its own moisture. If it becomes dry you hair needs some rejuvenation switch to a moisture repair. Yet if you hair feels fine and looks fine then it is fine and keep doing what you do.
  5)"Lather, rinse, repeat"
The myth:For healthier, more beautiful hair, lather, rinse, repeat.
The finding:CRAP. Would you wash your body over and over? Probably not. Shampoo is just soap for the hair. Once its washed its clean. Not that repeating is bad but it is a waste of your money.  You only need to repeat if something is stuck in your hair. Just like you only wash twice if you have gunk on you skin.
   6)Shaving leads to dark,coarse hair.
The myth:When you shave your hair, it will grow back darker and more coarse with more of it.
The finding: CRAP.  The reason your hair may look darker is because it hasn't been as exposed to sunlight. The sun lightens hair and reflects off longer hair making it appear lighter too. It feels more coarse because of the length. A good example is bamboo. Bamboo is very thick and stalky at the roots but flops at the top. So its natural hair is practically the same.
  7)Hair dye and pregnancy.
The myth: Dying your hair while pregnant can be harmful to your child.
The finding: CRAP. Hair dyes used to have formaldehyde in them which can be very harmful to a child in the womb and any one else for that fact.  However, we have come a long way from that point and there are no longer formaldehyde's in hair dyes.
  8) Sleeping with wet hair.
The myth: Sleeping with wet hair can cause bacteria and fungus to grow within the hair and scalp.
The finding: CRAP. Although sleeping with wet hair can be very damaging to your hair, you won't grow fungus.
  9) Salon products are the same as store products.
The myth: Hair products are hair products, more expensive salon products don't have that big of a difference.
The finding: CRAP.  Salon products are made with a higher standard of quality.  They pay to do the research and get the right ingredients.  For example, most store products(VO5, Suave, ect..) still contain sulfates which can really damege the hair over time while salon products have healthier alternatives. Also, the strong smells that are in the cheaper hair products can be harmful also.
Last but not least the only wives's-tale I found to be a fact:
10)Smoking may lead to grey hairs.
The myth:Smoking can actually lead to grey hair.
The finding:FACT. In 1997 in England there was a study that did find that people who smoke are 4x more likely to have grey hair. Smoking also has an effect on premature balding!

Really Funny and Entertaining!

Keeping Current on Beauty: Hair Care Choices. (Direct TV Commercial Parody):   We are trying to start building up a YouTube page for your pleasure and entertainment.  So we got an idea to do a parody on those Direct T...

Pure NV BKT

So last night I stayed at my aunts house so naturally I had to shower at her house this morning.  She has lots of different shampoos and conditioners(like 4 sets) so I had to pick one to try. Well, I already knew the EVOLVh was an amazing line so I then had to pick between Markesh Dreamsicle, Scruples White Tea, and pure NV BKT.  I arbitrarily decided to go with pure NV BKT, and wow! I'm so happy I tried that one because it's amazing!  First of all, it had a great citrus type smell that really helped me wake up.  The shampoo lathered really well and the conditioner wasn't to heavy. My hair has a brilliant shine and fells super luxurious. The shampoo of course contains no Sodium Chloride, Sulfates, or Parabens so it won't hurt colored hair(or any other hair) at all. This shampoo was so great that I'm gonna have to buy some for my house. Plus, I think I will be giving their Versatility product a try.
Ignore the lack of makeup. Lazy Day!

Jane Iredale

So I always love hair, skin and nails. However, I've never been a big makeup kind of girl.  Well, slowly that is beginning to change. Pretty much what started getting me into make up is this brand that my aunt introduced me into. Its a wonderfull line that is all about creating better natural skin instead of just trying to cover it. Jane Iredale is the superhero of you skin and makeup! So here is what  my aunt hooked me up with so far and how to use it properly:
Zap and Hide($26)- Its a double sided "pen", one side being the zap and the other being the hide. The zap side is a combination of tea tree leaves and lavendar oil to soothe inflamation, and algae and buckwheat to nourish the skin.  The zap really does work! With just one use a blemish is gone for the next day. The way you use it is apply the zap over the blemish and around the red area the use the colored hide side to conceal the red and after apply make up as normal. Its great to have in the purse for incase emergencies or as a night time blemish treatment.
Zap and Hide
Chocoholicks($35)- A lip gloss set with four different shades and flavors of litterally yummy lip gloss. The four flavors/colors are a deep orange with a deep choclate taste with a dash of zesty orange, espresso is a sexy brown with a mocha espresso taste, a plum color that has the essence of chocolate covered berries, and a kissable red that can bring a sweet and spicy sensation to your lips. I love to put this over my normal lip stain for a more kissable look. It comes with a retractable brush to apply or just use your finger!
Mystikol($20)- This is the eye liner from the angels! This is the one stop tool for creating a smokey eye because the pencil is dual sided with a eye liner/shadow and a perfectly matched highlighter.  The makeup is made of a creamy powdery texture ensuring that smearing is to a minimal. I got the Lapis Lazuli which is a deep blue color but there are a ton of choices that are all very pretty and shiny and will make any eye color just POP!  What you need to do is apply the eyeliner and highlighter directly to the eye using the sponge applicator.  Then blend the color with your finger, sponge, or other brush.
The highlighter tip can also be used to highlight the top of the brow bone, cheek bone or to the inner corner of eyes.

Mystikol
The packaging is really fancy and looks like each product must cost hundrends which is always nice when showing off to friends! Plus you haven't even heard the best part yet. For a limited time they are giving out free make up kits to anyone who buys Jane Iredale! So there is no reason to wait, everyone should have this good of makeup in their makeup bag.

A New Me

So I have come to the conclusion I don't like straightening my hair every day like I used to.  However I still don't really like wearing my hair natural either(but I do still wear it normal and straight sometimes). So I've been going through me and my sister's arsonal of styling stuff and I have found new style I love and some I can't stand.
From my fave new style to my least:

My Waves
1)Wavey- I leave my bangs straight because I play with them way to much. I love this look because its new and its not too much. To achive this look, I let my hair air-dry. Then I added Onesta Quench Leave-In Conditioner all over(so the heat wouldn't make my hair frizzy). Then I start by separating my hair into about 1" to 1/4" layers getting smaller as I move to the top.   Next using my 1" GHD Flat Iron I start on the bottom layer at the top of the moving down the hair while rotating my wrist and straightener 180 degrees every 2-ish inches.  Move the straightener slowly! Otherwise you will never see the waves. As I bring the layers down, I also make the waves closer together. Then after it's all done I spray a very light coat of hairspray. Make sure the hairspray is light too because you dan't want to look like plastic head. Something like Biosilk Spray Spritz would be great.
When I curl it. Way to 70s for me.
      2) Curly- I love my hair curly. The biggest issue is I can't do it on myself.  I don't know why I'm just silly like that. Hpwever, my aunt and sister are amazing at it!  When my sister does it she uses her ISO Proliss Wand. She starts with a little bit of Fekkai Luscious Curls(our hair really doesn't liked to be curled). Then with the wand she starts at the top of a section of hair on the bottom of the wand(the fatty part) then wraps the hair up the wand. I love the way my sister does it because I get those really tight spring loaded curls.
     3) Up- I've been trying lots of new up dos but in all reality I don't ever like them. I don't have the time to get into the nice ones and my hair is to layer for normal ones. Sure I enjoy my ponytail days and sometimes I like a quick braid but for the most part I need my hair down.
    4) Crimped - Okay this was a complete flop for me. COMPLETE! I borrowed my aunt's iTech Pro Crimper and oh no! I looked like a poodle. It made my hair at least an inch shorted and poofed my hair way out! I feel like it may have gone much better if I didn't crimp every layer or if my hair wasn't so thick but it was an OMG moment.

Think Pink!!!!

Its October! Halloween, fall leaves, cooler weather and most of all think pink is here!! I want to(if I ever have some free time) dye the bottom part of my hair hot pink for this breast cancer awareness month.  I feel breast cancer awareness is very important. I've known many women who have had to go through it and let me tell you it is No fun. Many groups and companies all love to pitch in their donations this month and you can help too. Of course there are many foundations and places that you can donate but there are also many other ways to help too. Here is a very trustworthy website that you can donate once or recurringly on. If you are strapped for cash there are also many groups in many areas where you can simply volenteer your services or time to help fundraise or teach awareness like self-examinations.  Other ways include buying spcial product that show up during October. For example, me being the Beauty Babe that I am always buy the Pink bottles during October.  I know I'm going to have to buy some kinda beauty product this month(maybe every week, day, whatever) so I make it a point to get something pink also or instead of.  The wonderfull thing about getting the pink packaging is often times they are cheaper too! Like at my favorite beauty website they are offering 15% off all Pink bottles when the pinks are already a few bucks cheaper! How great is that!! So far I've gotten the Susan G Komen for the Cure nail polish set. Its three nail polishes for just 15 bucks! Thats crazy cheap. There are many other think pinks too I just haven't decided which ones I want. I'm also planning on going to a Dirty Girl Mud Race, they send all proceeds to breast cancer funds, which is an obstacle course made to push you but also be fun too. There will probably be one in your area too. So no matter what your part is, dying your hair, volenteering, buying special products, fundraising, its important we all do this together! Remember to Think Pink!!

Homecoming

So homecoming is coming up for most high schools some time this month(my high school's is tonight). I LOVED home coming. The dressing up the games the everything!  My school colors were blue and gold so every spirit week Friday was and is blue and gold day. Everyone dressed up for that day even kids who paid no attention to other spirit days.  Well so its important for us to go all out, and I sincerely hop all kids get all dressed up on that Friday. Even if you don't like your school hey its something new and fun so why not?!?! So in honor of spirit week I wanna let everyone in on the easiest way to get dressed up and not look to dorky.
One quick way that you can spirit up and spirit up your friends is puffy paint. No need for the shirt or bag just your skin! Get two big bottles and walk around writing on cheeks and by the eyes. Its great fun. I used to do two paw print by my eye(we're the cubs) and a jersey number on my cheek.  Puffy paint is really cheap at any local wal mart. :)
Another thing is hair. Temporary dye is wonderful. Plus there is a company called Zack's Wax that makes hair gel that is colored and come in all common color combinations! We gave a girl once liberty spikes with blue and gold gel. Or if you don't wanna gel your hair there are Tribal Pigments by ELC or hair chalk that you just rub in and it does nothing to your hair texture.
Finally, Tempra Paint. Lots of guys used to cover their arms, legs, and chests in full paint, that for the real die-hards. Spirit week is fun and so few kids participate its sad.  You will have to grow up and dress normal in 4 short years and you have 40 years of you life to look normal. Its fun and exciting to be different. Don't miss out!

My best friend

My best friend is some one who is the exact samely opposite of me.  We are so alike yet totally different. She has been through everything with me. We've known each other from the day she was born(she's younger). My best friend is my sister.  Granted we do fight, but all the same we are bestest friends. She is the only one who biologically has to love me.  Me and my sister are both beauty fanatics but we defiantly do thing our own way. Where my make up bag consists of one eye liner, one mascara and three eye shadows, hers has one bag of eyeliners, one drawer of brushes, a bin of eye shadows, twelve mascaras, and the list goes on....  Last night I asked my sister why so much stuff!?!(Its not only make up that she over supplies herself with) and what she said was probably the best answer ANYONE could come up with. She said because I don't have just one style, I AM a big, always changing style.
Now in honor of My Style Sister I asked her what a few of her favorite things are:
Image Eucalyptus Clenz Shampoo -Emmy says: this is great for my {moderate} dandruff. After a week of use my scalp is super healthy which has made all of my hair just wonderful and has boosted my confidence. Head and Shoulders couldn't do the trick but this could.
Jane Iredale Liquid Eye Liner- Emmy says: I love {it}! Raccoon eyes never will fit my style so I like how it stays where I put it.  It lasts all day without chipping and its very easy to wash off at night.
Original Sprout Miracle Detangler- Emmy says: Because I take my showers at night I need my detangler. My hair likes to just fall out as is so I never want knots in it, plus I'm to tired at night to blow dry it and we can't take morning showers on weekdays.(Four people, one small hot water heater).
ELC Tribal Pigments- Emmy says: Since I don't like dying my hair I love {these}. They wash out and work amazing. I especially love them on Fridays. I go way overboard blue and gold for the football games. Plus I color all my friends. GO ANDERSON!
Amir Argan Oil Moisturizer- Emmy says: My lotion is defiantly my number one thing ever! I couldn't live without it. I have one at home, in the car, in my backpack, everywhere. Its light in smell so I don't bother people around me but when you get close I smell GOOOOOD! Its really hydrating, rubs in great and is just an awesome product.
My sister is an amusing, typical 17-yr old. She is a wonderful singer, beautiful dancer, natural leader. Just a great(yet stubborn) young lady. I love her very much!

Supergoop!!

Jordan at the top of the Falls
Emmy and Teresa
I know wierd title but it will make sense I promise.  This weekend my sister, some of our friends, and I all went on a hike before rainy season starts to set in. Afterall, Fall is here. We did the Whiskey Town Falls hike. it 2.6 miles stright up hill. UGH! But it is a really beautiful hike and it did all of our legs some good. And at the end those falls are absolutely goregeous!! Well so we were hiking along and Emmy starts to whine about feeling burnt(the trail is very sunny). I never carry sunscreen because my naturally tan complection almost never allows me to get burnt. :) Then my friend Teresa pulls out a small purse type thing that just says SUPERGOOP all over it. Now my friends and I are all teenagers so this word was hilarious! Everybody started to laugh(now that I think about it we were probablly a little dehydrated and just being goofy too).Anyways what she pulls out of this little bag makes us laugh even more! She had enough stuff with sunscreen to lather everyone for the next month! She had 4 little sunscreen wipes, lotion, lip balm, and a sun stick. All called supergoop!  I had to ask her why such the over kill and she simply told me that not everyone can have perfect skin like you and I hate being burnt and peeling. While I don't have perfect skin she is right sunscreen is important because peeling is gross, being burnt is painful, and skin cancer is bad. I did use her lip balm and it was awesome. Made my lips all soft and minty. :) Emmy loved the wipes on her neck and shoulders because it smelled absolutely amazing and didn't make her all greasy. Later at Whiskey Town beach we tried to use the stick to draw a heart on our friend Jordan, to see if it would tan on a heart, and it didn't really work. only a little bit. This little travel case would be great for anyone with fair skin or just likes sunscreen. Highly recomend, eventhough I probably won't get one myself cause I don't use sunscreen but I knda just want the bag so I can carry something Supergoop! Such a funny word!

A Night In

I am a hardworking, smart, independent, friendly woman.  I wake up early and stay up late. I help everyone, study, clean, cook. Its busy, so I love my nights off.  Nights off are me time and I cherish them.  Not enough woman out there really take advantage of their nights alone.  For example, my Momma, she is a devoted teacher and mother, but when she gets a night to herself she cleans the little places of the house she sometimes misses or she works outside until she is dead tired and just passes out. No! You're doing it wrong Momma!  Alone nights are to rejuvenate and replenish yourself. Spring cleaning is for all the nooks and crannies of cleaning. So I thought I'd do a piece on how I spend my nights to myself.

To the Gym Makeup

So for the Navy, I have put myself on a strict healthy diet and lots and lots of exercise.  I want to be fully prepared when I go to Illinois for boot.  Now I know a lot of people thinks it's dumb or not smart to care about what you look like when you go to the gym, and I agree...to an extent. Do I think I need to wear the cutest clothes or have the besthair? No! I'm working my tail off I need comfy and functional! However, I do wear makeup.  I want my face to not look as dead as I truly feel. Makeup though is very tricky because you can hinder your work-out and beauty in your face if its not done right.  All the time I see girls at the gym looking like they are going clubbing! I understand the insecurity of need to loose weight and get fit and makeup being a comfort zone but there is a limit! The biggest, most defined limit is foundation! Hello?! Foundation(both powder and liquid) clog your pores. You sweat from your pores. And no its not good that you're holding back sweat. Sweat may stink and be sticky but remember its all the toxins and icky stuff leaving your body. It's cleansing and it helps with weight loss. Plus, when you don't loose sweat and you clog it behind your pores you are way more likely to break out! I can't tell you how many times I heard a girl whine about how she started working out and the little bit of sweat makes her face horrible. I ask that girl two questions 1) do you wipe you sweat with your hand or a towel? and 2)Do you wear foundation or do you take your makeup off? Foundation is just holding the toxins right there on your face so duh you break out! Foundation is best to use after even right after. Just rinse your face and apply a redness reducing foundation like gloMineral's Redness Relief. It gives you face a normal tone glow so you also look like that 45 min run was a piece of pie.  Next eyeliner, now this is not a wait item just make sure it's waterproof! No body likes raccoon eyes. They are not sexy! at all. Same thing with your mascara. Lots think that waterproof is to hard to get off but they are lazy! it is not just wash your face with soap. For eyeshadow its the same idea as foundation. But when your done use cool colors like blue green and purple to make your face glow and not like you just worked your but off.  Lips=Chap stick. If you're really working you'll probably end up breathing in and out your mouth instead of just out so you need something really moisturizing.
  Hope this helped:) I<3WORKINGOUT!

Last night I got to spend some time with my super cute niece Anna Jo Neff.  She is 1 year and 7 months old now. Gosh time flies so quickly. She is walking and talking(kinda) and a big handful. We played and played and played last night. It was a lot of fun. I went to give her a bath(that's our favorite thing to do together cause I'm the only one who lets her play in bath not just clean and get out) and she had some new shampoo and conditioner that was so cute! Normally my sister always has Johnson and Johnson Lavendar to help wild child calm down and sleep, but Anna must be sleeping better cause now she has Circle of Friends Banana Shampoo and Conditioner(Anna Banana HA I just got why my siter picked that one). Still tear free, and no Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (possible causes of cancer). I asked my sister where she got it from and of course like me she got it online so I looked it up and they have so many awsome smells! And It actually smells not just a hint but a I held Anna in my arms and thought she was a gaint banana. The other smells from this Circle of Friend's line include; Choclate, Pineapple, Rasberry, Bluberry, Orange and Root Beer. Circle of Friend's also had a Lice Defense and Swimmer's and a Buenos Noches for easy nights. Plus, its not just shampoo and conditioner but there is mousse, gel, lotion and more. I encourage everyone with a kid to try it because it was YUMMY!

Towelettes Anyone??

Towelettes are something I always carry in my purse. Its a nice easy way to keep germs out because I HATE being sick.  However, it wasn't until recently that I learned so many uses for towelettes! Well, maybe not many uses for normal alcohol smelling ones but Herban Essentials is a line of towelettes that have yummy fresh clean smells to them and I was reading some information on them and they have lots of practical uses besides cleaning up!

9/11 Patriot Day

So today is September 11, and 11 years ago many people lost their lives in our country.  Today is a day to remember those lives lost; those lives we now fight for. My grandma knows exactly where she was when the world heard Elvis died, that was her generation's thing, and now it my generation and we all(or should know) where we were and what we were doing when the twins fell. I remember very clearly. Being on the West coast our day really hadn't started yet and I remember being my little 1st grader self barely waking up and hearing my dad call," Girls come out here!" Me and my family all sat on the couch together and watched the news in sad disbelief. Where were you? Do you remember?
I encourage everyone to take a moment of silence today for all those civilian men and women today. Then take another one for all the soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines out there making sure it doesn't happen again.  Everyday there are people, normal people, that have decide to train and risk their lives to defend our country. You may not see it and hopefully never will, but everyday these men and women fight to keep all attacks out of our homeland.  They leave their family and put everything on the line so we at home can live on peacefully. They work day and night taking down terror attempts after attempts. Please thank a service men. Only 1% will join and a smaller percent join now that we are in conflict, those few people deserve a thanks and a hand shake.

Oh No!! Help Me!!

Well I've signed myself up to serve our country as a United States Sailor. I'm super excited! But...yes there is always a but... for boot camp I have to cut off pretty much all of my hair :(. That makes me sad cause I've been trying to grow it out since 2008! Luckily, I have decided that the education, travel and nice pay do out weigh my hair. Wow never thought that would come out of my mouth... Any way so I've been looking up some short styles and slowly I'm getting more used to the idea of short hair.

YUMMY LOTION!!!!

So I know I say a lot of things are a must have but I cant help myself! I'm a see it, love it, need it, must have it type of girl.  But this lotion really is a must have!! Normally I always use Bath and Body Works Secret Wonderland or Original Sprout Scrumptious but an old friend sent me a care package this week and it had some samples of Hempz lotions. It had the original, cucumber jasmine, and citrus blossom.  The original was by far my favorite but the other ones were great too. They are 100% au natural plus loaded with vitamins for beautiful skin. Oh yea and no THC so they wont make you high.  Sadly they were only the small ones so I looked them up online and found the full size ones for about $22 on www.haircarechoices.com! I also saw a bunch of body washes that are now on my watch list. Haha. Plus in the lotions there were more kinds! like Age Defying, Vanilla Plum, and Pomegranate. I ordered the full size of the original plus the pomegranate because I'm normally way into the smell of pomegranate!

My Baby

So I have been dating my boyfriend, Garret, for almost a year( 1 year on 09/10/12). We both call each other my baby even though it drives both of our sisters crazy. He can be a handful sometimes but I love him very much. He's the person that even sitting around doing nothing is fun together. He likes to surprise me with cute messages all the time. Just the other night he wrote a poem for me :). It went a little something like this:
From the dawn of time, you were meant to be mine.
From the blue of the sky that matches that of your eye,
To your loving kiss I would never dismiss,
From your beautiful flowing hair to you skin so fair,
It's only you, without a doubt
That I alone could not live without.

No matter the argument,
I know it was to me
That you were heaven sent.

I know I make you cry,
But I love you til I die.
Nobody else could make me this happy,
Never could any one...
Til along came Ally.

It is a little over the top but what can I say we are young and in love :). I was just thinking about him a lot today so I though I would let my readers know a little about him.

Xtended Beauty

My Friday night look
Lashes from Friday
Xtended Beauty by Reese Robert is a full line of false lashes. There are some myths out there about false eye lashes like they are irritating, difficult to put on, or that they look funny. NOT TRUE!! I wore a pair of Xtended Beauty Bait out on Friday night and I have never had so many compliments on my eyes! They did feel a little bit heavy at first but that went away within 3-5 minutes. They were super easy to put on too. I learned the biggest trick is to snip the eye lashes before you try to put them on. Make them your eye size first(most people try to glue them first them then trim them).  Fake lashes are a quick simple way to spice up the entire look of you face. I love to try all the new kinds I can but here are a few I keep on hand at all times:

CallAHairDresser.com

Strange right?! It's from CallAHairdresser.com. I'm not yet sure what I really think about it.  In ways I completely agree, however the way they showed it was kinda dumb and non-convincing.  Personally the only box dye I've ever used  is a temporary dye to dye my head blue for a football game at school. I love the girls at my salon so its exciting to go there and salon trips make my hair extra soft.  But  friend and my momma have used them. Both with a not so good experience for the most part.  Both of their box color maybe lasted a third of what a salon color would last.  My mom wanted to be blonde from grey...she got more grey. That time we used a L'oreal box and it like ate more color out of her hair! LAME! Plus her super thin hair got thinner frizzier and just all bad.  My friend, Shelby, and I put highlights in her hair. Never again. We did it outside and like halfway through coloring her hair there were ants in the dye. That was strange but our own fault. She's a strawberry blonde and we tried a few platinum highlights. All the highlights got so dead and dry that if some one tapped her hair it would all fall out.  Also, she must have had a purpleish color shampoo(I don' know what) cause the dye after a few washes looked purple!
My Boyfriend with his hair blue. But this was the time with Pro dye.

Beauty Pet Peeves...What's Yours?

I'm not crazy. Everyone has pet peeves, I am a little more over the top with mine though, i.e. I have a bazillion. Here's a few from my beauty pet peeves:

First on my list is hair that is not my hair or eyebrows.  The moment I even have pricklies on my legs or anything it really freaks me out. I used to shave my arms and everything but my booyfriend thinks thats freaky so I'm trying to be normal but i CAN'T look at my arms. Normal store bought shaving cream absolutly does not cut it for me. Every time I use it I'm left with pricklies. Yuck! I've finally found a shaving cream that Ican swear your legs will never be so silky! :) What is it you ask?.....Amerian Crew Moisturizing Shave.  Yes, it is a men's product but who cares. It has lots of vitamin to make razor burn go away and treats you skin like an extra layer of lotion. A little goes a long long way.  Its a cream/gel not a foam and i think thats part of the reason it works soo well.

Another thing on my list is dry skin. I already got stuck with the lame "Ally Aligator" nickname so I really hate dry scaly alligator skin. Of course the number one solutions is dink water. I live somewhere pretty darn hot so I will drink up to 3L of water every day. However, water can't do it alone. A good lotion can make all the difference(and keeps hair from growing back so quick).  My all time favorite lotion is Original Sprout for many reasons. One is that its vegan. I have to eat meat, its an addiction, but I can save the animals in my own way(products).  Two is it is super dooper moisturizing(since its also meant for babies) so I can count on healthy skin all day long.

Okay only two more things I will say(I could write a full novel but I don't wanna overwhelm anybody). My toe nails! I'm a girl, I love my open toe cute black pumps. When I see people with bare toe nails it really ruffles my feathers. I personally like my toes to be solid color. Decoratios are more of a hand thing in my book.  My favorite go to color is Zoya Ki. Its very elegant. The blue, green, purple really suits my own style. Its fun because it is so many colors in one but it doesn't yell "hey world look at my feet".

And now for the biggest, most peevish thing of the day(all time would be the sound of velcrow) is *drumroll please*..... Frizzy Hair! I grew up in dance so my obsession with having sleek hair is a little over the top and baised, but I still cant stand frizzy hair.  Wheather I wear my hair curly, wavey, or straight I insist it  is smooth. In the morning no matter what I'm gonna do with my hair I start by applying Goldwell Kerasilk Anti-Frizz. Its a must. Keeps all the little whispies in their proper place! plus makes hair super smooth which never hurts. Kerasilk anti frizz also works as a heat protectant so your hair will never look more maintained or as healthy without.

So what's your biggest beauty pet peeve and how do you help eliminate it?? Please comment! :)
